Favorite Images #25: Star Trails

One of my favorite type of shots to take is a long exposure. They can be used to create a variety of different effects. For this particular image, I wanted to try out getting some star trails. This was my first time attempting this type of shot and I was happy with the result. I attempted to get another long exposure at the same place another time and when I came back to the camera, there was a skunk lingering around. I think I would have felt better about seeing a bear. Well, maybe a super friendly bear that could do tricks and break dance. Man.. okay.. I need sleep.. Point of the story, when taking long exposures, beware of skunks. This shot was taken using a canon xsi, on a tripod, with a sigma 10-20mm lens at  f/5, 2451s at iso 100 .
